Your structures, your processes, your form - as unique as your vision

'idee&form', the theoretical background

The professional approaches of 'idee&form' are based on scientific and theoretical constructs that are expressed both in the work with organizations and in individual collaboration. These approaches are explained in more detail below.

The vision as an important starting point

The vision is the lighthouse for the organization in volatile (constantly changing) markets and times. It is the joint task of 'idee&form' and partners to turn the vision into a clear, trend-setting beacon. Strong enough to be successful in turbulent times (Simon Sinek, 2014).
A good vision has several characteristics:
Firstly, it expresses a customer benefit. Secondly, it contains social or ecological added value for society. Thirdly, the vision has an inspiring and energizing effect and provides a visible direction for everyone. And fourthly, it is not limited to the next quarter or the next financial statement.

Beliefs, values & motivations

An organization that aligns itself with visionary beliefs, values and motivations automatically shapes its individual organizational form and, as a result, its operational logic. The vision has an impact on structures & processes, hierarchies & resources, cooperation & communication.
The result of such individual operational logics and the underlying values are flexible, innovative organizations. These organizations inspire customers, partners and employees with their products and services.
idee&form helps them to be visible as a beacon for their stakeholders.

The 'idee&form' development wheel

Development wheel

The 'idee&form' development wheel shows how the shape of an organization is formed from a vision and which measures help an organization to master the individual development steps.

The "why" analysis

Just as the function of an object is closely linked to its form, the idea and vision of an organization is closely linked to its form. The organizational form automatically arises from the lived and transparent vision of an organization.
For this reason, it is important to know your own vision and keep it alive. The question of "why" provides information about the vision, the idea that is deeply rooted in an organization.

"Why - are we doing exactly what we are doing?"
"Why - was it so important for us to start doing what we are doing now?"

The vision underlies every strategy, every project and even every action. An organic organizational structure is created by developing the form from the vision.

The core story

The vision is now packaged in a core story, a basic story that describes exactly what the company is about at its core. The relevant values that latently shine through in the vision are named and suitable mission statements are derived. Finally, symbols of the vision are created that become visible in the organization. Symbols can be of a visual nature, but symbols can also be behaviours of individual actors or behaviours of the organization as a whole.

The operational logic

The operational logic of an organization describes the control logic and includes both the surface structure, such as structures, processes, communication and resources, and the deep structure, the secret rules of the game and the implicit understanding within an organization.

The operational logic is derived from the vision and the core story. It is fundamental for an organization to have confidence in its own development and its own capabilities. Confidence in its ability as an organization as a whole and also in the individual parts of the organization, such as each individual employee, partner and customer.

Organizational structures that do not fit the vision place an unnecessary burden on the organization and can be discarded like superfluous ballast.

"The development with idee&form enabled our organization to shake off all appearances that did not correspond with the vision and led to great freedom (of movement). (Head of IT project)

'idee&form', the measures

idee&form' picks up each organization where it stands in its individual development. The visions and ideas are embedded in the core story and translated into the operational logic. 'idee&form' provides support with various measures so that the organization can be flexible and innovative through authenticity.
This includes change management, leadership development and team development.
Strategic coaching supports key people during organizational development in order to reflect on fundamental impact factors for change.
